Budgetary Cutbacks for UK Care Homes

We read recently about the 15 minute care visit for domiciliary care. It is acknowledged that a visit of such short duration can only hamper the quality of care given to an individual. Cutbacks and reduction in budgets are at the root of this and it cannot continue. Quality domiciliary care is far more beneficial for an individual than having to move into a care home. It is also less expensive. If we cut back on the quality of our domiciliary care it could have a negative impact on an individual’s wellbeing thus defeating the purpose of it in the first place.

These cutbacks are also affecting care providers and potential entrants into the market. We are aware of the looming bed shortage and it is imperative that a sustainable financial model is created for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
